The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China really is great. So much so it is hard to wrap your mind around it. Many parts of it built seven centuries before Christ. Later many joined and even more wall built bt the first emporior Qin Shi Huang. Towers within site of each other all along it's lenght for signaling and a road on top to move troops quickly from one location to another while their enemy struggled moving on severe terrain. It for the most part held back invaders and allowed for collecting of taxes and border control.

The scale is unbelievible. The construction is great too in lasting all these centuries.

The wall was crowded not only with foreigners but overwhelmingly with Chinese.

These next two photos are overheads of a walking maze. Instead of a cornfield they use stone.

One of the ladies from the ship caught the interest of a group from a high school and talked to them about the Great Wall, their schooling and thei practiced their English with her.  The kids were having a great time, smiling and laughing. I should have video recorded it.
